Ukrainian officials said the speed of the Starshield satellite network was improving after more than a week of disruption, according to a report in The New York Times. The Times summary describes Starshield as the Pentagon-funded satellite network that Ukraine relies on to thwart Russian attacks, and it says the announcement followed the disruption.

In a separate report, CBS News reported that Ukrainian leaders confirmed on Saturday that the country's access to SpaceX technologies, Starlink and Starshield, had been restored to full speed. The CBS News summary said the confirmation came shortly after Elon Musk admitted to slowing Starlink down. The summary did not say why Musk slowed the service or how long the slowdown lasted.

The two accounts differ in wording. The Times headline describes the Starshield network's speed as improving and attributes that description to Ukraine, while CBS News reported that access had been restored to full speed. Neither the Times summary nor the CBS News summary says whether the two statements describe the same measure of speed or the same period.

Neither summary gives measured speeds, the number of users affected, or the cause of the disruption to Starshield. The Times article was written by Siobhán O'Grady. The CBS News item does not list an author in the material available for this report.
