Billboard reported that John Cena, a former professional wrestler, is set to make a "special guest appearance" on NXT, the weekly WWE television event. The outlet's streaming guide on how to watch NXT online, written by Rudie Obias, also says there are a number of ways to stream the show. The article is dated November 4, 2026.
Fox News reported that Cena personally invited Zilla Fatu, the son of the late Umaga, to join Cody Rhodes in the upcoming John Cena Classic field. According to the outlet's report on the invitation, Fatu became emotional as Cena extended the invitation. That report is dated November 5, 2026, and the material reviewed did not list a byline.
The two reports cover related but distinct items. Billboard's summary refers to Cena's appearance on NXT, while Fox News's summary refers to the Classic field that Fatu was invited to join alongside Rhodes. Neither summary states the date of Cena's appearance or the date on which the Classic field will be set.
Billboard's summary does not describe what the appearance will involve, and Fox News's summary does not give the date of the Classic or the full composition of its field. This account relies on the published summaries of both reports, and no additional reporting was used to confirm the details.
The reports were published about a day apart, with the Billboard article timestamped before the Fox News report, according to the publication times in the source material.
